This week we asked readers if anticipating discomfort makes it easier to keep going. If you know you’re going to hit the Everything Sucks stage of the creative process, will you be more likely to follow through once you’re in it?
In our experience, the answer is a resounding YES.
However.
Anticipation of what’s to come isn’t sufficient. You also need allies. Partners in crime, people in the trenches with you, and people who are cheering on the sidelines, “GO!! You got this!” and “That is awesome! Please, tell me more.”
The creative process is a beast. It’s personal, it’s hard, and it’s easy to quit. It’s much easier to say you’re waiting for the Muse than it is to sit down for 10 minutes and paint 🎨 something horrible.
At Brainstorm Road we recommend spending 10 minutes a day on your Dream Project. Yes, we know “it’s not enough time,” but we also know that ten is more than zero. And if you start with ten…magical things can happen.
🚨Brainstorm Road is OPEN for the last time in 2023. If you have a Dream Project you want to finish, click here, and let’s finish it. Hundreds of people are already inside ready to cheer you on. Join the ‘Road trip.

One Small Thing
Last week we challenged you to do one small thing for your Dream Project. If you did, bravo. Now, do it again. (If you didn’t, it’s cool. We invite you to try again).
Get a timer. Set it to 10 minutes.
That’s it.
Go.

I did it. I am in. To quote my toddler as she runs out the front door: "Lets goooooo!"
Every time I read one of these newsletters/posts/essays (what are we even doing anymore), I get fired up. Fantastic writing!
