The end of the school year has me thinking about the freedom of childhood summers. We spent summers by the beach making sand castles and going crabbing, sitting on beach towels eating ice cold plums rummaged from a cooler, and rubbing aloe into sunburns (I’d deeply regret this part later). When I woke up in the morning, I’d find a little bit of sand in the sheets, a welcome reminder that it was still summer and yet another free flowing beach day was before me.
