Y’all are brilliant writers. Dang, you’re inspiring! I AM FIRED UP TO KEEP LAUNCHING IMPERFECT WORK AND KEEP MAKING IT BETTER AS I GO ON THIS NEXT BRAINSTORM ROAD VOYAGE!! Session 5!!
I loved this.. made me feel better about the course I finished after years of stop/start, but couldn't bring myself to tell anyone (other than BSR) because.. too cringey. It reminds me to give myself grace, accept that is the best I could do at the time and to let it be what it will be in the world. Perhaps there are advantages due to the cringe elements, which we will never know. I heard someone (can't remember who!) say that if we take care of the quantity, God (or Universe etc) will take care of the quality. (edited to say.. it was Julia Cameron!)
Cameron is always dropping wisdom bombsssssss. Yes to all of this. You and @bolaji need to connect. He and I have been chatting on the line between gentle (with yourself) and relentless (with your work/practice). IT’S HARD
That sounds an interesting conversation. I love how you put that and yes, the line is changing all the time. For me, at least, I think it has to mean a continual open hearted commitment to being aware and taking action. A lot of love and compassion required! and also light heartedness and a playful watching out for the easiest way to get it done. Thank you for the food for thought!
I feel like this is advice we all “know” as creatives, but have to hear again and again. I’m so guilty of trying to perfect something before releasing it into the world or think through all the components of a decision before making it. Thank you for this beautiful reminder!
