Twitter really was a beautiful thing at its peak. I still miss that version of it a lot, because nothing has really come along that truly replaced / recreated that culture and engagement. (Though many, including this place, have tried.)

AGREEEEEEE. Where do you go now for that level of (kind spirited) engagement and connection?

Lemme know when you find out 😅 Do you post on Notes much these days? I keep feeling the pressure to be more active on it. I think it could be fun, but it’s so different to be in a community of “newsletter writers” versus the open web of everyone on twitter. Everytime I see another “omg Substack Notes community is the BEST I LOVE YOU ALL” I just want to barf 😂

hahahahahahaha listen im here for that enthusiasm. I dont post that often, but not for any reason other than....I legit forget. I think of SubStack as a publishing platform not a social one so I just...forget? Don't think to? It's not intentional! Do you post?

I’m the same way. But with all the Notes I actually struggle to read newsletters on the app, so I tend to avoid it in favor of reading in my email or RSS reader.

exactly same. it makes engagement rates confusing too. I love so many newsletters I subscribe to and RARELY like them on the app or engage with them outside of my inbox

What a genius! I’m off to order the book now!

If you’re after something similar to the Twitter of old, have you tried Threads?

1. The lack of having to create visuals/graphics 2. Interesting conversations about life and business 3. The reach is incredible 4. I've discovered a lot of like minded business owners through there as I can see what they are talking about and what they value 5. There's a huge number of creatives on there 5. I find it easier to post on there than any other social platform 6. I can turn up there with all my interests in one platform, not just business me!
